Our History
JMD Industries, Inc. was founded in 1977 as JMD
Plating Co. in Lawrence, MA by Jim and Janet DeDeus. The DeDeus'
had learned the trade under the watchful eye of Janet's father
Linus Saulnier and his company, Essex Chrome Plating.
Jim and Janet quickly made a name for themselves among the local
Merrimack Valley community for their quality work restoring
antiques and chrome car details to their original beauty. They
soon started to take on industrial work by providing a full
slate of metal finishing options for both the metal fabricating
industry and local machine shops. By the mid 1980's the company
had grown to more than 20 employees and had a customer base that
allowed for continued expansion.
In 1992 JMD Plating Co. became JMD Industries, Inc. and along
with that change made a monumental move to Hudson, NH. The
company has continued to grow and expand over the years adding
more metal finishing options to the facilities already diverse
capabilities.
From 2000 to 2001 JMD completed a large addition to its Hudson
facility, nearly doubling the production area square footage.
Part of this expansion included to addition of a fully automated
Chromate on Aluminum process line. This computer operated line
allows JMD to process some of the largest aluminum parts in New
England. At the time of this expansion James S. DeDeus joined the
company and began to oversee the day-to-day operations of the
business. Since that time James has led the company forward in
its operations expansion.
In 2007, as the company saw a continued transition in its
operating team, a bold move was made to add an Automated Zinc
Plating Line. This computer operated line is State of the Art in
its ability to accommodate high volume production runs of steel
parts. The computer operation of this line allows the most
intricate details of the plating process to be finely
controlled. This detailed control improves quality without
sacrificing turn-around time of orders.
Having recently celebrated it's 30th Anniversary JMD is striving
for continued improvement in customer service, quality and
environmental design.
